display .mov files in Picasa

If you can't see your digital camera movie files in picasa, chances are they are Quicktime encoded .mov files and require the appropriate codecs installed on your PC.  The easiest way to fix this is to install Apple Quicktime or do what I do and install Quicktime Alternative.

Restart Picasa and it should then add all your digital movies to its library.

In assition to installing Quicktime, you may also need to select “.MOV” as a filetype in Picasa (Tools\Options\File Types). Exit Picasa and start again. Picasa will now rescan and include Quicktime Movies (.mov) files.
